Research Club Projects

To celebrate our learning in our Research Club unit, students researched and created a project to show a solution to a real world problem. Students then worked collaboratively to design a solution to the problem for an animal they had researched. The students used the guideline and rubric below. After completing we went public by sharing our final project for Team Create. Follow the link to see a live video of their presentation!

Family Turkey Project

On Monday, your child brought home the information about the Family Turkey Project.
Help this Turkey make it safely past Thanksgiving this year by disguising him as a part of your family. Please have fun and be creative! You may use any medium you would like to decorate the turkey. In addition, have your child plan and write a creative story about their turkey on the attached paper. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Please return the turkey and story to school by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH, so your child can share their turkey and story with the class.

I can't wait to see the turkeys and hear the stories!

Who knew learning about Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition could be so much fun!

Today we played the weathering, erosion, and deposition game! Each team had to weather away a piece of their unit cube landform, crab walk (erode it) to the other end of the classroom, and deposit it on the carpet. It really showed how weathering away of rock makes it smaller and smaller, and erosion is when the sediment is moved from one place to another, and deposition is when the sediment is dropped off in a new location.
